The Department of Plant Pathology at the College of Agriculture, Badnapur came into being in 2002 to teach the subject of Plant Pathology to the students of B.Sc. (Agri.) course. Post-graduate teaching in Plant Pathology was started in 2012.The college is affiliated to Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidhaypeeth, Parbhani. The department has produced 51 M.Sc. (Agri.) graduates. Gratifyingly, most of these post-graduates pursued their doctoral studies elsewhere and have occupied important positions. The post-graduate students from this department performed very well.

The Department has produced 51 post-graduates. Presently, the department is offering 07 PG courses and 07 under-graduate courses under semester system of teaching. The department was first headed by Dr. Dahiwal (2012-2013) Dr.O.D. R. Kohire (2013-14), Dr. D.G. Hingole (2014-2021); presently it is headed by Dr. S. V. Pawar (June2021, to till date).
